बृहस्पति के भगवान, बृहस्पति सभी नवग्रह देवताओं में प्रमुख हैं और सभी देवताओं के लिए मुख्य शिक्षक या गुरु माने जाते हैं। वह ज्ञान और आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान का अवतार है। वे ऋषि अंगिरस के पुत्र हैं जो सप्तऋषि और ब्रह्मा के मानस-पुत्र थे। उन्हें सभी नवग्रह देवताओं में सबसे शुभ माना जाता है और हिंदू शास्त्रों में उनकी काफी प्रशंसा की गई है। बृहस्पति का वैवाहिक जीवन पर भी बहुत प्रभाव पड़ता है। गुरुवार का दिन उनकी पूजा के लिए समर्पित है। सकारात्मक रूप से रखा गया गुरु एक आध्यात्मिक और ज्ञान से भरा हुआ बना सकता है।
बृहस्पति वैदिक काल के एक महान ऋषि थे जो ऋषि अंगिरस से पैदा हुए थे। अग्नि के देवता अग्नि को प्रसन्न करने के लिए ऋषि अंगिरस ने अनुष्ठान किया। उनकी पूजा से प्रसन्न होकर अग्नि ने युगल को पुत्र का वरदान दिया। इसलिए कभी-कभी बृहस्पति को अग्नि के साथ भी जोड़ा गया है। ऋषि नारद ने बच्चे के नामकरण संस्कार के दौरान घोषणा की कि बच्चे के पास अपार आध्यात्मिक शक्तियां होंगी। वह अपनी बुद्धि और धार्मिकता के लिए तीनों लोकों में जाना जाएगा। नारद ने अंगिरस को यह भी सुनिश्चित करने का निर्देश दिया कि बृहस्पति ध्वनि शिक्षा प्राप्त करें। बृहस्पति के बड़े होने के बाद शिव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए उन्होंने गहन तपस्या की। उनकी पूजा से प्रसन्न होकर शिव ने उन्हें बृहस्पति का स्वामी बना दिया और उन्हें एक नवग्रह देवता का दर्जा दिया। बृहस्पति का विवाह तारा से हुआ था जो आकाश और तारों की देवी थीं। तारा का चंद्रमा के स्वामी चंद्र के साथ अवैध संबंध था। वह बृहस्पति को छोड़कर चंद्र के साथ रहने चली गई। बृहस्पति उग्र हो गए और हड़ताल पर चले गए। उन्होंने सभी समारोहों में भाग लेना बंद कर दिया और भगवान चिंतित हो गए क्योंकि बृहस्पति मुख्य पुजारी थे। देवताओं ने चंद्र के खिलाफ युद्ध का आह्वान किया। यहां तक कि चंद्र असुरों और उनके मुख्य शिक्षक शुक्राचार्य की मदद से लड़े। हालांकि, चंद्रा हार गया और तारा को बृहस्पति के पास लौटना पड़ा। बृहस्पति ने वापस आने के बाद महसूस किया कि तारा चंद्र के बच्चे के साथ गर्भवती थी। यह बच्चा बुड्ढा था। कुछ शास्त्र बताते हैं कि बृहस्पति ने बुध को अपने पालक पुत्र के रूप में पाला।
तारा बृहस्पति की दूसरी पत्नी थी। शुभा उनकी पहली पत्नी का नाम था। बृहस्पति की शुभा से 7 बेटियाँ थीं। तारा के साथ उनके 7 बेटे और एक बेटी थी। ममता से उनके 2 बेटे भी थे जो बृहस्पति के बड़े भाई उषाता की पत्नी थी। ये दो पुत्र कच और भारद्वाज थे। बृहस्पति के समकक्ष शुक्राचार्य, शुक्र के भगवान राक्षसों के मुख्य शिक्षक थे। वह मृत्संजीवनी नामक एक मंत्र को जानता था जो मृत राक्षसों को जीवन में वापस ला सकता है। बृहस्पति इस मंत्र के बारे में नहीं जानते थे और इसे शुक्राचार्य से लेना चाहते थे। उन्होंने अपने पुत्र कच को शुक्राचार्य का शिष्य बनने के लिए कहा ताकि वह उनसे मंत्र सीख सके। शुक्राचार्य जानते थे कि बृहस्पति किसी चीज़ पर निर्भर थे और इसीलिए उन्होंने अपने बेटे को भेजा था। उन्होंने काचा को अपना छात्र स्वीकार किया लेकिन स्वर्ण मंत्र को उनसे दूर रखा। इस बीच, शुक्राचार्य की बेटी देवयानी को कच से प्यार हो गया। जब राक्षसों को पता चला कि कच अपने शिक्षक से सीख रहे हैं, तो वे असुरक्षित हो गए। वे कच को मारने चले गए। उन्होंने कई बार कच को मार दिया लेकिन शुक्राचार्य के मंत्र के साथ, कच को फिर से जीवन में लाया गया। असफलता से निराश राक्षसों ने एक बार फिर से कच पर हमला कर दिया। इस बार उन्होंने उसके शरीर को राख में जला दिया और राख को शुक्राचार्य के पीने में मिला दिया। शुक्राचार्य के पीने के बाद उन्हें देवयानी से पता चला कि उनके द्वारा कच की राख भी पी गई थी। उन्होंने फिर से मृत्संजीवनी मंत्र का इस्तेमाल किया और काचा का शरीर उनके पेट से फूट गया। इस बार कच को गुप्त मंत्र का पता चला और उसका मिशन पूरा हुआ। उसने अपने पिता के पास लौटने का फैसला किया। उन्होंने जाने से पहले देवयानी से अपनी सच्चाई कबूल की। देवयानी क्रोधित थी और उसने उसे शाप दिया कि वह शुक्राचार्य से मिले सभी ज्ञान को भूल जाएगी।
पीला नीलम और पीला रंग भी उसके साथ जुड़ा हुआ है। हड्डी के जन्म चार्ट में एक सकारात्मक रूप से रखा गया बृहस्पति व्यक्ति के लिए बहुत फायदेमंद है। व्यक्ति ज्ञानी और ज्ञानी बनता है।
The Lord of Jupiter, Brihaspati is the chief among all the Navagraha deities and is considered as the main teacher or Guru for all the Gods. He is an embodiment of knowledge and spiritual wisdom. He is the son of sage Angiras who was a Saptarishi and mind-born son of Brahma. He is considered to be the most auspicious among all the Navagraha deities and has been immensely praised in Hindu scriptures. Brihaspati also has a great impact on one’s marital life. The day of Thursday is dedicated to his worship. A positively placed Guru can make one spiritually inclined and full of knowledge.
Brihaspati was a great sage from the Vedic period who was born to sage Angiras. Sage Angiras performed rituals to please Agni, the God of fire. Pleased with his worship Agni granted the boon of a son to the couple. Hence sometimes Brihaspati has been linked with the Agni also. Sage Narada during the baby's naming ceremony declared that the child shall possess immense spiritual powers. He shall be known for his wisdom and righteousness in all three worlds. Narada also instructed Angiras to ensure Brihaspati receives sound education. After growing up Brihaspati underwent deep penance to please Shiva. Pleased with his worship Shiva made him the Lord of Jupiter and gave him the revered position of a Navagraha deity. Brihaspati was married to Tara who was the goddess of sky and stars. Tara happened to have an illicit affair with Chandra, the lord of Moon. She left Brihaspati and went to stay with Chandra. Brihaspati got furious and went on a strike. He stopped attending all the ceremonies and Gods became worried because Brihaspati was the chief priest. The Gods called a war against Chandra. Even Chandra fought with help of the Asuras and their chief teacher Shukracharya. However, Chandra lost and Tara had to return to Brihaspati. After coming back Brihaspati realized that Tara was pregnant with Chandra's child. This child was Budha. Some scriptures suggest that Brihaspati raised Budha as his foster son.
Tara was Brihaspati's 2nd wife. Shubha was the name of his 1st wife. Brihaspati had 7 daughters from Shubha. With Tara, he had 7 sons and a daughter. He also had 2 sons from Mamata who was Brihaspati's elder brother Uthatya's wife. These two son were Kacha and Bharadwaj. Brihaspati's counterpart Shukracharya, the Lord of Venus was the chief teacher of demons. He knew a mantra called MritSanjivini which could bring dead demons back to life. Brihaspati was not aware of this mantra and wanted to take it from Shukracharya. He asked his son Kacha to go and become Shukracharya's disciple so that he could learn the Mantra from him. Shukracharya knew that Brihaspati was up to something and that is why he had sent his son. He accepted Kacha as his student but kept the golden mantra away from him. Meanwhile, Shukracharya's daughter Devyani fell in love with Kacha. When demons came to know that Kacha was learning from their teacher, they became insecure. They went onto kill Kacha. They killed Kacha several times but with Shukracharya's mantra, Kacha was brought to life again. Frustrated with failure the demons once again attacked and killed Kacha. This time they burnt his body into ashes and mixed the ashes in Shukracharya's drink. After Shukracharya drank it he came to know from Devayani that Kacha's ashes were also consumed by him. He again used the Mritsanjivini mantra and Kacha's body erupted from his stomach. This time Kacha came to know the secret mantra and his mission was accomplished . He decided to return to his father. He confessed his truth to Devayani before leaving. Devyani was angry and she cursed him that he shall forget all the knowledge he got from Shukracharya.
Yellow sapphire and yellow color are also associated with him. A positively placed Jupiter in Bone's birth chart is very beneficial for the person. The person becomes knowledgeable and wise.
