Narayan Narayan!!
Rishi Narad is a well-known sage in Hindu philosophy. Narad Muni is considered to be the chief leader of all sages and saints known to live on planet Earth. He is also known as 1st journalist to live on planet Earth. Rishi Narad is one of the 12 Chiranjeevi who shall remain immortal till the end of time. He is a cosmic traveler who keeps moving from one planet to another. He roams around in all the three worlds and is considered as a friend of everyone be it Gods, Humans, or Demons. Rishi Narad is also known as a gossipmonger who loves to gossip and instigate fights among others. However, he does this with no selfish desire of his but to help the Supreme Lord with his desired plan of action. Narad is a staunch Vishnu devotee and is always shown chanting Vishnu’s name as Narayan. Rishi Narad is the possessor of infinite wisdom and knowledge. He is known as a living encyclopedia who knows the entire Cosmos. He is well versed in all subjects like science, art, music, philosophy, warfare, etc. The birth of Narad has been written differently in different scriptures. Let us hear a few of them.
According to some scriptures, Rishi Narad is considered as the son of Lord Brahma and Goddess Saraswati. He is born from Brahma’s mind and is a sibling to the Four Kumaras and Dakshya and other mind-born sons. He possessed a vast knowledge of the cosmos and hence it was decided that he shall descend on Earth to spread God’s word. Along with him several other demigods and sons of Brahma like Daksha descended to create life on Earth. Daksha produced creatures on Earth but none of them were procreating by themselves. Hence Daksha decided to create creatures through the coition of males and females. Daksha married Akini and had 5000 sons through her. They were called Haryasvas. Before they could also procreate Rishi Narad appeared before them and told them that before creating they should know the Universe. He instructed them to go in different directions in this Universe to gain knowledge. The Haryasvas agreed to his advice and scattered all across the Universe. They never came back. Daksha procreated again and gave birth to another 1000 sons called Sablasvas. Rishi Narad did the same with Sablasvas and they also never came back. Furious with this Daksha cursed Narad that going forward he shall keep wandering from one planet to another just like sons. He also said that no one shall take his advice seriously and call him a gossipmonger.
In another story Rishi Narad in one of his previous births was born to a maidservant. The maid used to serve the saints and Narad also grew up serving them. Pleased with their service the saints allowed Narad to feed on the Prasad that was served to Vishnu after worship. This made Narad spiritually inclined and he also wanted to know the reality of the Cosmos now. He went into a forest and started meditating upon Lord Vishnu to gain self-realization. During this meditative trance, Lord Vishnu appeared before Narad in his divine form. He told Narad that he shall get to know Vishnu in detail only after his death. However, Vishnu decided to visit Narad as he wanted Narad to grow more fond of him and desire to be with him after his death. Narad was elated after this. For the rest of his life, he simply meditated upon the Lord. Upon his death, he met Lord Vishnu who then changed him into his permanent spiritual form as Rishi Narad.
Rishi Narad is said to know about Past Future and present. He is mentioned in different epics like Mahabharat, Ramayan, and Puranas. In Mahabharat, he is shown to be telling Yudhishtira the story of Prahlada. In Ramayan, he is mentioned warning Ravan of the consequences of his cruel deeds. Let us now discuss a few stories mentioning him.
Narad and the Tridevis – Once there was a cold war among the Tridevis (Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati) over supremacy. Narad decided to visit the Goddesses separately. He purposely ignited the Goddesses against each other. The Goddesses decided to establish their supremacy by performing miracles. Saraswati turned a dumb and deaf person into a scholar overnight. Lakshmi turned a poor lady into a queen overnight and Parvati turned a coward into a chief army general overnight. However, things did not go as per their plan when people of that kingdom started to revolt against that army general who tried to remove the Queen from her position. The Queen had earlier punished that overnight scholar for not respecting her. The Goddesses realized that this was Narad’s mischief and that all three of them were equally important.
Narad meets Jalandhar – Jalandhar was a powerful demon king who ruled the three worlds once upon a time. The Gods wanted to end his tyranny and hence approached Narad for help. Narad, as he was a friend of everyone, decided to visit Jalandhar. He praised Jalandhar and said that he possessed everything except a beautiful wife like Parvati. This instigated Jalandhar against Shiva as he now wanted to defeat Lord Shiva and marry Parvati. He tried to fight Lord Shiva however was killed by Shiva in the battle
The Omkareshwar Jyotirling – The legends mention the rishi Narad was the primary reason for the establishment of Omkareshwar Jyotirling on Earth. It is said that Rishi Narad instigated Mount Vindyachal against Mount Meru. He told him that Meru was more powerful than him. This made Vindyachal jealous and he started meditating on Lord Shiva. After six months of hard penance, Shiva appeared before Vindya. Vindyachal asked for infinite strength. He also requested Shiva to stay near him forever. This is how Omkareshwar Jyotirling was formed. After this Vindyachal started growing himself to compete with Meru. With Shiva’s presence, his growth was huge. Very soon he became the strongest and tallest of all the mountains. However this created problem and disturbed Lord Surya’s (Sun God) daily circumambulation of the Universe. Hence one half of the Universe remained in darkness after this. To stop this Goddess Bhagvati asked sage Agastya to intervene. Sage Agastya traveled from Varanasi to Vindya. Vindyachal on meeting the sage bent down in front of him to honor his presence. Agastya asked Vindya to be in that position until he returns from South India. Agastya never returned and hence Vindyachal stood in that position for eternity.
Sage Narad is also shown to have divine knowledge of music and always carries his musical instrument (Tanpura) with him. He uses this instrument to sing praises for the Lord. There are few temples in India dedicated to him which are situated in Karnataka.

ऋषि नारद हिन्दू दर्शन के एक सिद्ध ऋषि हैं। नारद मुनि को पृथ्वी ग्रह के सभी रशियों और संतों का प्रमुख नेता माना जाता है। उन्हें जगत के सबसे पहले पत्रकार के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। ऋषि नारद उन 12 चिरंजीवियो में से एक हैं जो अंत तक अमर रहेंगे। वे एक यात्री है जो एक ग्रह से दूसरे घर पर घूमते रहते हैं। वे तीन लोगों में घूमते हैं और उन सभी का मित्र माना जाता है चाहे वह देवता हो, मानुषी हो या राक्षस। ऋषि नारद को गैपशप करने वाले के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, जो गैपशप करना और दूसरारों के बीच झगड़ना पसंद करता है। हालांकी, वह ये सब आपको इच्छा के लिए नहीं करते, भगवान विष्णु की योजना की सहायता के लिए वे ऐसे छोटे मोटे अंतराल और विवाद का सहारा लेते हैं। नारद एक कतर विष्णु भक्त और उन हमें नारायण के रूप में भगवान विष्णु के नाम का जाप कराटे हुए दिखया जाता है। ऋषि नारद अनंत ज्ञान के स्वामी हैं। उन एक जीवन विश्वकोश के रूप में जाना जाता है जो पूरे ब्रह्मानंद को जनता है। वे विज्ञान, कला, संगीत, दर्शन, युद्ध आदि सभी विषयों में परंगत हैं। नारद के जन्म की कथा अलग-अलग शास्त्रों में अलग-अलग लिखा गया है। आई उनमेन से कुछ कहानियों को सुनें।
कुछ शास्त्रों के अनुसार, ऋषि नारद को भगवान ब्रह्मा और देवी सरस्वती का पुत्र माना जाता है। वे ब्रह्मा के मन से भुगतान हुआ थे वे चार कुमारों, दक्ष और अनेक मन से जाने
ब्रह्मपुत्रों के भाई। उनके पास ब्रह्माण्ड का विशाल ज्ञान था और इसिलिए यह निर्णय लिया की वे भगवान के वचन का प्रसार करने के झूठ पृथ्वी पर उतरेंगे। उनके साथ कई कई देवता और ब्रह्मा के पुत्र जैसे दक्ष, पृथ्वी पर जीवन बनाने के झूठ अवतारित हुए। दक्ष ने पृथ्वी पर जीव उत्पन्न की लेकिन उनमें से कोई भी जीव स्वंय पाया नहीं कर रहा था। इसली दक्ष ने नर और मादा के संयोग से जीव बनाने का फैसला किया। दक्ष ने अचानक से विवाह किया और उसे 5000 पुत्र उत्पन्न हुए। उन पुत्रों को हरियावास कहा जाता था। इससे पहले की वे प्रजन कर पाटे, ऋषि नारद उनके सामने प्रकाश हुए और उन कहा की उन प्रजनन से पहले उन ब्रह्मानंद को जाना चाही। उन्होनने ज्ञान प्रप्त करने के झूठ है ब्रह्मानंद के विभीन दिशों में जाने का निर्देश दिया। हरियावास उनकी सलाह पर सहमत हो गए और गरीब ब्रह्मंद में बिखर गए। वे कभी वापस नहीं आ। दक्ष ने फिर से 1000 पुत्रों को जन्म दिया जिन्हें सब्लस्व कहा जाता है। ऋषि नारद ने सब्लस्व के साथ भी ऐसा ही किया और वे भी कभी वापस नहीं आ। इससे क्रोधित होकर दक्ष ने नारद को श्राप दिया की वे आगे चलकर दक्ष के पुत्रों की तरह एक ग्रह से दूसरे घर में भटकते रहेंगे। दक्ष ने यह भी कहा की कोई भी नारद की सलाह को गंभीरता से नहीं लेगा और उन में गैपशप करने वाले के रूप में जाना जाएगा।
दूसरी कथा एक अनुसार ऋषि नारद ने अपने पूर्व जन्म में एक दासी के यहां जन्म लिया था। दासी संतों की सेवा कराती तुम और नारद भी उनकी सेवा कराटे हुए बड़े हुए थे। उन सेवा से प्रसन्न होकर संतों ने नारद को प्रसाद खाने की अनुमति दी, जो पूजा के बाद भगवान विष्णु को परोसा गया था। इससे नारद का रूझान आध्यात्मिक हो गया और वे भी अब ब्रह्मानंद की वास्तव में जाना चाहते थे। वह एक जंगल में चले गए और आत्मज्ञान प्रप्त करने के झूठ भगवान विष्णु का ध्यान करने लगे। ध्यान के दौर है, भगवान विष्णु अपने दिव्य रूप में नारद के सामने प्रकट हुए। उन्होनने नारद से कहा के वाहन विष्णु को उन मृत्यु के बाद ही विस्तार रूप से जान पाएंगे। भगवान विष्णु ने नारद के पास जाने का फैसला किया क्यों की वह चाहते थे की नारद उनके प्रति लीन रहे और उसकी मृत्यु के बाद विष्णु के साथ रहने की इच्छा करें। भगवान विष्णु के दर्शन के पासछत नारद बहुत खुश हुए। अपने शेष जीवन के झूठ, उन्होनें बस प्रभु का ध्यान किया। उन मृत्यु के बाद, उने मुलाकात भगवान विष्णु से हुई, जिन्होने उन ऋषि नारद के रूप में अपने रहने वाले आध्यात्मिक रूप में बदल दिया।
कहा जाता है की ऋषि नारद भूत भविष्य और वर्तमन के बारे में सब जानेते हैं। महाभारत, रामायण और पुराणों जैसे विभीन महाकाव्यों में उनका उल्लेख है। महाभारत में उन युधिष्ठिर को प्रह्लाद की कहानी सुनाते हुए देखा गया है। रामायण में, रावण को उसके क्रूर कर्मों के परिणामों के बारे में चेतावनी देने का उल्लेख किया गया है। आई अब हम ऐसे ही कुछ कहानियां का उल्लेख करते हैं
नारद और त्रिदेवी - एक बार वर्चस्व को लेकर त्रिदेवियों यानी की सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी और पार्वती के बीच युद्ध छिड गया। नारद ने जाना बूझकर देवों को एक-दूसरे के खिलाफ प्रज्वलित किया। देवीयों ने चमत्कार करके अपना वर्चस्व स्थापित करने का फैसला किया। सरस्वती ने एक जाएंगे-बाहरी को रातों-रात विद्वान बना दिया। लक्ष्मी ने एक गरीब महिला को रात-रात रानी बना दिया.पार्वती ने एक कायर को रातों रात सेना का प्रमुख सेनापति बना दिया। हलांकी, उनी योजना के अनुसर चीनन नहीं बैठी जब हमें राजी के लोगों ने हमें सेनापति के खिलाफ विद्रोह करना शुरू कर दिया, हमें सेनापति ने रानी को उसके पद से हटाने की कोषिश की। रानी ने हमें सेनापति को रातोंरात बने विद्वान का सम्मान नहीं करने के झूठ दण्डित किया था। त्रिदेवियों को समाधान आ गया की यह नारद की शरत तुम और वे किशोरों समान रूप से महानवपूर्ण थे।
जालंधर से मिले नारद - जालंधर एक शक्तिशाली राक्षस राजा था जिसे एक समय में तीन लोगों पर शासन किया था। देवता उसके अत्याचार को समग्र करना चाहते थे और इसली मदद के झूठ नारद के पास पहंचे। नारद, क्योंकी वे सब का मित्र थे, जालंधर से मिलने का फैसला किया। उसे जालंधर की प्रशन की और कहा की उसे पास पार्वती जैसी सुंदर पत्नी के अलावा सब कुछ है। उसे जालंधर को शिव के खिलाफ़ उकसाया। जालंधर अब भगवान शिव को हराना चाहता था और पार्वती से शादी करना चाहता था। उसे भगवान शिव से लादेन की कोषिश की लेकिन युद्ध में शिव ने मार डाला का उपयोग किया
ओंकारेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग - ऐसा कहा जाता है की ऋषि नारद ने मेरु पर्वत के खिलाफ विंध्याचल पर्वत को उकसाया था। उन विंध्याचल को कहा की मेरु उसे अधिक शक्तिशाली था। इससे विंध्याचल को जालान हुई और वह भगवान शिव का ध्यान करने लगा। चाह महाने की कथार तपस्या के बाद, शिव विंध्याचल के सामने प्रकाश ह्यू। विंध्याचल ने अनंत शक्ति मांगी। उन्होनने शिव से अनुरोध किया की वे हमेश के लिए उनके पास रहे। है प्रसार ओंकारेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग का निर्माण हुआ। इसे बाद विंध्याचल मेरु से मुकाबाला करने के झूठ खुद को विकसित करने लगा। शिव की स्थापना से, उसका विकास बहुत बड़ा था। बहुत जल्दी वह सबी पहाड़ो में सबे मजबूर और सबसे ऊंचा बन गया। हालंकि इसे समय दिया कर दी और भगवान सूर्य देव की ब्रह्मानंद की दैनिक परिक्रमा को परशान कर दिया। इसालि इसे बाद ब्रह्मानंद का आधा हिसा और यहां में रहा। इसे रोकाने के झूठ देवे भगवती ने ऋषि अगस्त्य से हस्तक्षप करने को कहा। ऋषि अगस्त्य ने वारणसी से विंध्याचल की यात्रा की। विंध्याचल ऋषि से मिलाने पर उनकी स्थापना का सम्मान करने के झूठ उनके सामने झुक गए। अगस्त्य ने विंध्य को दक्षिण भारत से लौटने तक उसे स्थिति में रहने के झूठ कहा। अगस्त्य कभी नहीं लौटते और इसली विंध्याचल अनंत काल तक हमें स्थिति में खड़ा रहा।
ऋषि नारद को संगीत का दिव्य ज्ञान था और वे हमा अपने तनपुरा को अपने साथ रखते हैं। वाह इज यंत्र का अपयोग प्रभु की स्तुति गाने के झूठ कराटे। भारत में उन समरपिट कुछ मंदिर हैं जो कर्नाटक में स्थिति हैं।
